Around the age of 12 I became more interested in rock music (specifically more alternative than what I was used to with classic bands such as Aerosmith or Boston),
and slowly delved more into the sub-genres, including industrial-metal. Bands like Rammstein, Static-X, Nine Inch Nails, and 3TEETH gained my interest.
KMFDM was among those, however not long after, I learned of what is generally associated with them -making KMFDM “controversial”.
I am not a part of the community who worships the band because it was listened to by people who died 25 years ago -or those who were infatuated with them.
Glorifying these acts through media coverage and personal creations only makes them more appealing to those looking to be more than a “nobody”.
It also makes it easier for those who are struggling to feel accepted, to learn about and become intrigued, because it allows them to escape reality, and live in false hope and delusion.
